Day 3, folks! These are all books I’ve read over the past five years, including this year, because I don’t really read mystery that often anymore? Or maybe it’s just that it’s been hard to find a good mystery, ya know? Anyway…

3.5-4 stars! Man, this was probably more of a page-turner than the last one! Those plot twists, wow! It’s very satisfying when something leans towards one direction just enough to make you suspicious, then throws you off to forget it, but then it’s confirmed and you feel very happy about it. Or is that just me?
Not as much telling or repetition either.
retrospect: I really did like this one more than the other two. Also, that cover! (Honestly all three covers are pretty great)

Well, that was really short. It read like a TV show episode, but that’s not bad! I think it works! I need to get the rest of the books now, because AHHHH I HAVE A NEW SHIP
2022 retrospect: Ok but this whole series is great and I wish it were a TV show already! I also ship Brent & Emily waaaay hard! xD

*incoherent inward screeching*
2022 retrospect: Yep, that was my review. Because KRS is a MASTER at plot twists! And yes, I know this is also fantasy but it still counts because it’s also mystery and also a retelling of Beauty & The Beast…but in a way you’ve NEVER seen before! All of these books are half-mystery, really, because…🤐

This was good for a debut novel! Seriously. The author did a great job when it came to red herrings and the real culprit. . .which to be honest, I actually felt a bit of pity for the culprit in the end, as horrible as they were.
I loved the messages of learning to forgive and trusting God to take control of the many sticky situations us humans tend to entangle ourselves in.
The romance certainly had its ups and downs, like real relationships do. True, there were sappy moments, but hey, every romance needs a sappy moment, especially when you’ve got certain types of backstories in the mix.
Also, the kitten JUST MAKES ME WISH I COULD CUDDLE ONE RIGHT NOW!
AND THE ENDING. I MUST HAVE MORE; IT CAN’T JUST STOP THERE!!!!! IS THERE GONNA BE A SEQUEL?!
2022 retrospect: Tbh, this has been on my re-read list for a while now…I should probably get going on that. xD

IT’S SO LOVELY
I LOVED IT
Amanda Dykes is becoming a favorite author, for sure!
2022 retrospect: This has a little mystery in it, I promise! It’s also a prequel to Whose Waves These Are!
I’m loving how EA is sweeping the entire party! 🤩🤩

Three cheers for Emily Abbott! That series is just so, so fun, and I cannot wait for future seasons to be released!
And AAAAHHHH. *joins you in incoherent internal screaming* THE AFTERVERSE. (I so, so dearly desire more of those books, oh my goodness. It has been far too long. 🙂 )

Christy Barritt is a family favorite, I read her books first the first time a long time ago, like when I first started using Kindle Unlimited and then my siblings started reading them too and now there are four of us that love her books.
