Blog Tour: Review of A Prayer Unanswered

Hey, everyone! My apologies, I wasn’t able to post my review yesterday. Anyway…

As Alice Strauss enters her first year of marriage—full of optimism and determination—she finds herself wholly unprepared for reality. In a new country, with a new family, she struggles to find her footing. Difficult relationships and situations batter her, but she is determined to establish a perfect life with the man she loves.

Unfortunately, perfection seems just beyond her reach. An unexpected tragedy flings Alice out of control, and she struggles to rise from the ruins. Her world is full of spinning variables and agony beyond anything she has ever experienced.

However, there is hope—in a God who loves her and a future established for her since before time began. Yet the devastation of Alice’s life seems beyond even the touch of grace.

(Amazon: (Goodreads:

Alice is one of those characters that you want to read about yet are constantly frustrated with because she’s just so…ALICE.

Peter, Peter, Peter…so like Alice yet so unlike her.

Also Nettie is still my favorite character and to see her finally TELL Alice…*zips lips*

ANYWAY. This is definitely one of the more mature A&I books, probably *the* most mature. As a general rec, I’d say it’s best for ages 15 and up, but would also warn all readers regardless of age and would recommend evaluating one’s maturity level as well because there is because there is one particular scene that, while not graphic, mush less condoned, happens near the end that might…well, just check out the spoiler tag on other reviews.

All in all, I can’t wait for the next book.

(Technically I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review but ended up finishing on Kindle)
