I liiiiiiiiiiiiiive!
Sorry about the whole disappearing act last month. I was going to keep you all updated as I wrote, but then that didn’t happen…and then I just didn’t blog at all.
And now I’m late with this post. Anyway…
April Writing Results
So, I worked on Arrows for April. I don’t know what happened to my brain because the words just flowed, for the most part, and I reached my goal of 60k and then some! I included notes as to where to ‘buff’ Arrows up and other stories and snippets I started during April. And I did try to fix The Woodsman, but…I honestly think it needs a protagonist change.
But even without all the trimmings, it’s still over 60k. Originally my gol was 75k, but then I lowered it.
I’m so happy; Arrows is FINISHED!! The first draft, that is.
May Writing Goals
So far, I’ve done teeny-tiny edits on Arrows, and I started switching the type of POV for The Woodsman. Personally, I think I’ve introduced Jonathan too soon.
I’ll just be dabbling in new ideas and whatnot…maybe. And I should really get back to some reading…
I’m also going to be adding a little something to these updates called…
Today’s Random Historical Tidbit
In which I tell you of the weird, random, and interesting historical facts I stumble upon in my research kicks.
Today’s historical tidbit comes from my Salem Witch Trials research kick: John Alden Jr. was one of the accused. Okay, so what’s interesting about that?
He was the oldest son of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins, who came over on none other than the Mayflower. And it appears his father was accused too? More research must be done.
Anyway…I consider that to be right up there with MLK Jr. and Anne Frank being born in the same year. It’s just one of those things that you’d think wouldn’t have a connection because of the distinct differences in the events those figures are associated with.
Oh, and did I mention MLK Jr.’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech and the end of WWII were a mere 18 years apart?
How’s your Saturday going? Done any writing today? Any research?
Okay those are cool facts 😀
