Hope you guys don’t get seasick! We’re going out on the water today, so hold on tight to your books!
Outlining Your Novel // K.M. Weiland
An excellent guide to brainstorming, figuring out characters, plot, and other things! I actually haven’t finished it quite yet…I have 13% left. (Reading on Kindle because the paperback I have is packed)
5 Secrets Of Story Structure // K.M. Weiland
Another helpful guide!
Crafting Unforgettable Characters // K.M. Weiland
Alright, so it’s no secret that K.M. Weiland has been a go-to with writing for me the past five years. Reading too, of course. She’s one of a few auto-buy authors on my shelf.
This is an oldie, but goodie. To the point and with writing prompts scattered throughout to get those creative juices going!
*This is an e-book that’s only available through signing up for her e-letter.
The Writer’s Guide To Microsoft Word // Kari Holloway
A short, easy read to navigating MS Word. Learned how to use some things and also learned about some things that I didn’t know about. Like the bleed, widow/orphan, etc.
And I think the cover is cute too. 🙂
On Writing Well // William Zinsser
Definitely to-the-point and can also be used for fiction. One part did irk me a bit, but all-in-all, it does have some good advice.
I also didn’t finish this one…it’s a bit dry. It’ll eventually be finished…

I’ve heard of “Outlining Your Novel” but none of the others. I’d really like to read some of Weiland’s books!
I read the first book, but since I don’t outline, I didn’t follow her advice. 😉
Ooooh, thanks for sharing these! I’ve heard of the first three but haven’t read them yet.
Its no surprise I’ve seen so many writing books around here! For me, I’m more interested in photography and gardening books!
Haven’t heard of any of these book, but as a want-to-be author, I should probably check ’em out.
Ah yes! I’ve read “5 Secrets of Story Structure” and I really want to read K.M. Weiland’s other books!
You should! Especially her novels!
