Book Reviews: The Accidental Cases of Emily Abbott by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick

Since these are super short and written like a TV show, I decided to do them all at once.

*takes deep breath*

I. LOVED. THEM.

They’re clean, save for moments of violence (nothing too graphically-detailed though) and a bit of blood in the last one, and have funny, witty, and lovable characters – including one who does not understand the meaning of ‘rest and relaxation’.

*glares at Brent Emily-style*

And oh, my shipper heart at Brent & Emily. 😊

(WHY CAN’T WE HAVE MORE MALE CHARACTERS LIKE BRENT PETERSON??)

Also, I love how Emily was so excited to be part of a spy ring and all that! Especially when she was trying to guess what Brent would do next, and he’d go, “That’s movie stuff, Emily.” 😁

But, some movie stuff did make it in this series, so that was really fun to see!

Anyway, this is how I reviewed each book upon finishing:

Season One:

Red Rover, Red Rover (1)Well, that was really short. It read like a TV show episode, but that’s not bad! I think it works! I need to get the rest of the books now, because AHHHH I HAVE A NEW SHIP

Plan To Fail (2) AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

Bad Things, Small Packages (3)TIME TO READ THE NEXT ONE

Tutor, Nanny, Spit-up, Spy (4) Can this be a TV show already??

A-Spying We Will Go (5) INWARD SCREAMING

Once Upon A Dime (6) THE ENDING. YIKES.

Right Number* (6.5) SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

*This one can only be found on the author’s blog

Season Two:

Five Star Spy (1) ASHDJAGLFJAHLKGJHFJKGH

I NEED THE SECOND EPISODE

So, yeah, I’m a fan, and now I’m sitting on pins and needles wishing it was June already because that’s when S2E2 comes out.

*le sigh*

Oh! Something I think I should mention – you know how the woman in spy movies always gets redressed from her fancy clothes into her spy clothes? Okay, so Emily does the same in here, BUT she does that thing where you put one pair of clothes over another pair and then wriggle the first pair out through the second pair.

Like I said, super-clean. (Now if only spy movies did it that way…)

Tell me your thoughts below! Have you ever read these?
